[New York, July 3, 2023] – African Services Committee (ASC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Amanda Lugg as the new Executive Director. Having first joined ASC as a volunteer in 1998, Amanda has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the organization and its mission over the years. Her remarkable journey includes various roles, culminating in her recent tenure as ASC's Interim Co-Executive Director for 17 months. With her extensive background in nonprofit leadership and over three decades of experience in community-based work, Amanda has become a recognized advocate for marginalized communities, tackling critical health and immigration issues.
As ASC's new Executive Director, Amanda will play a pivotal role in guiding the organization toward achieving even greater heights. Leveraging her expertise in public health, program development, and community organizing, she will spearhead ASC's efforts to provide comprehensive health and social services to African and immigrant communities in New York City. Amanda's energy, passion, and unwavering commitment to the shared mission will undoubtedly drive positive change and further strengthen ASC's impact.
